Your data, respected

Privacy Policy.

How ReviewByte collects, uses, and protects your information — in plain English, no legalese padding.

Last updated: July 29, 2026

ReviewByte (“we”, “our”, “us”) is operated by Joseph Gomes and based in Kolkata, West Bengal, India. We respect your privacy and are committed to protecting the personal information you share with us. This policy explains what we collect, why, and the choices you have.

1. Information we collect

Information you give us

When you contact us through our form, subscribe to updates, or email us directly, we collect the details you choose to provide — typically your name, email address, phone number (if supplied), and the contents of your message.

Information collected automatically

Like most websites, we automatically collect limited technical data when you browse — your IP address, browser type, device information, referring pages, and general usage patterns. This is gathered through cookies and analytics tools to help us understand how visitors use the site.

2. How we use your information

We use the information we collect to respond to your enquiries and review requests, to operate and improve the website, to send updates only where you have opted in, and to keep the site secure. We do not sell your personal information to anyone, ever.

3. Cookies and analytics

We use cookies for three purposes: to remember your preferences, to measure traffic through analytics, and to serve advertising. Cookies set for advertising purposes are described in full in section 4 below. You can block or delete cookies at any time in your browser settings; some features may work less smoothly if you do.

4. Advertising

ReviewByte is supported by advertising. That revenue is what keeps every tool on this site free, with no signup wall and no email capture. We use Google AdSense to serve those ads.

Third-party vendors, including Google, use cookies to serve ads based on your prior visits to this website and to other websites. The use of advertising cookies by Google enables Google and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visit to ReviewByte and other sites on the internet, including through the DoubleClick DART cookie.

Third-party vendors and ad networks other than Google may also serve ads on this site and may set their own cookies, web beacons or similar technologies. We do not control those cookies, and their use is governed by the privacy policy of each vendor rather than by this one.

Advertising cookies may collect information such as an approximate location derived from your IP address, your device and browser type, the pages you view on this site, and how you interact with the ads shown. That information is used to select ads and to measure how they perform. We do not receive, store, or have access to the identity of any individual visitor through this process, and we never sell personal information.

How to opt out of personalised advertising

  • Turn personalised advertising from Google off at My Ad Center, or at Google Ad Settings if you are not signed in to a Google account.
  • Opt out of personalised advertising from many participating vendors at once via aboutads.info/choices or optout.networkadvertising.org.
  • Visitors in the EU, the UK and the EEA can also use youronlinechoices.eu.
  • You can block or delete advertising cookies directly in your browser settings. If you opt out you will still see ads, but they will no longer be personalised to you.

Consent in the EU, the UK and the EEA

Advertising cookies are not set for visitors in the EU, the UK and the EEA without consent. Where consent is required, a message is presented through a Google-certified Consent Management Platform before any personalised advertising cookie is placed, and you may accept or decline. Declining does not restrict your access to any article, tool or feature on this site.

5. Affiliate links

Some outbound links on ReviewByte are affiliate links. When a network processes a click or purchase, it may set its own cookies governed by that network’s privacy policy — not ours. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details.

6. Third-party services

We rely on trusted third parties for hosting, email delivery, form handling, analytics and advertising. These currently include Hostinger for hosting, Google Analytics for traffic measurement, and Google AdSense for advertising. These providers process data either on our behalf or as independent controllers in their own right, under their own security and privacy commitments. We share only what is necessary for them to perform their function.

7. Data retention

We keep contact submissions only as long as needed to respond and maintain a reasonable record of correspondence. You may ask us to delete your data at any time (see below).

8. Your rights

You have the right to access the personal data we hold about you, request correction or deletion, object to certain processing, and withdraw consent for optional communications. Under India’s Digital Personal Data Protection (DPDP) Act and comparable laws such as the GDPR, these rights are yours to exercise — just email us.

9. Data security

We apply reasonable technical and organisational measures to protect your information. No method of transmission over the internet is perfectly secure, but we work to safeguard your data using industry-standard practices informed by 18+ years of IT and cybersecurity experience.

10. Children’s privacy

ReviewByte is intended for professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from children.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our practices or the law evolve. The “last updated” date above always reflects the current version.
