Honesty is the entire point of ReviewByte, so here is exactly how the site makes money — stated plainly, the way we’d want it stated to us.
The short version
Some links on this site are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a small commission — at no extra cost to you. That commission never buys a better review, a higher rating, or a spot on any “best” list. Ever.
What is an affiliate link?
An affiliate link is a special tracking URL. When you click it and make a purchase, the merchant pays us a referral fee. The price you pay is identical to what you’d pay going direct — the commission comes out of the seller’s margin, not your pocket.
How we keep it honest
Our editorial process is deliberately walled off from our revenue. Three rules keep it that way:
1. Testing comes first, money comes never
Every product is evaluated on real-world testing, security, pricing, and usability. Whether a product has an affiliate program — or how much it pays — plays zero part in the score.
2. We recommend products with no commission
When the best tool for you has no affiliate program, we still recommend it. Some of our top picks earn us nothing, and that’s exactly how it should be.
3. We disclose, always
Affiliate relationships are disclosed on pages where they appear. If we earn from a link, you’ll know.
Which links are affiliate links?
Buttons and links leading to products in our curated shop, and some “buy” or “try” links inside reviews, may be affiliate links. Plenty of outbound links — to documentation, research, and news — are not. We don’t clutter the site with tracking where it adds nothing for you.
Programs we may participate in
ReviewByte may participate in affiliate programs run by software vendors and networks covering cybersecurity tools, SaaS platforms, and productivity apps. When we join a new program, it changes nothing about how we test or rate.
Why trust a site that earns commissions?
Because our long-term value depends entirely on being right. A single dishonest recommendation to chase a payout would cost the trust that makes ReviewByte worth reading. Backed by 18+ years in IT and cybersecurity, our reputation is the asset — not any one commission.
